Logistics and container services specialist, Zuidnatie recently added RTE’s WRAD wireless reefer monitoring system and GRASP data management platform to their growing refrigerated container handling operation within the Port of Antwerp.
Zuidnatie provides a wide range of services, including stevedoring, warehousing, transport and logistics, and container services that include reefer maintenance, PTI, and connection points for up to 40 refrigerated containers on-site with plans for future expansion.
The addition of reefer monitoring capability is a logical step that follows the Zuidnatie core tenet of providing value-added services to their clients.
“The RTE solution gives us an ease of mind with real-time monitoring, allowing our team to be agile and react on exceptions” – Floris Verswijvel, ICT-manager Zuidnatie.
Wireless devices, called WRAD, connect directly to each reefer, providing Zuidnatie terminal operators reefer data, notifications, and alerts across multiple devices.
Combined with RTE’s GRASP monitoring software, Zuidnatie operations team members can manage individual reefer status on-site and observe graphical views of the entire yard, ensuring the quality of the cargo while in their care.
“Through our multiple product categories, we developed a customized reefer monitoring system that allowed Zuidnatie to manage refrigerated container conditions, retain flexibility for future expansion, and stay within budget,” says RTE Head of Sales, Carlos Yassir
The value delivered is in the collected data, a complete historical view of the reefer’s performance while in the operator’s care. And the ability to package and present this information is a valuable asset worth sharing.
RTE’s modular monitoring system can also record power consumption data for each refrigerated container, building trust by providing accurate invoicing on the amount of power used instead of an estimated figure.
